Crimp % & Contraction % Calculation


Crimp: Crimp is defined as the shortening of yarn length in the fabric. crimp is created due to the interlacement / interloping of yarn during the fabric formation.


Example: The length of a fabric is 8 m. The length of a warp yarn, removed from the fabric, in straight condition is 8.6 m. Determine the crimp% in warp direction. What should be contraction %?
