WHAT IS BALE MANAGEMENT

Bale Management:

It is defined as the process of sorting, mixing, and testing of bales according to characteristics of the fibers to produce good quality of yarn at low production cost.

Objects of Bale Management: The main objectives of bale management are:

  1. To obtain required quality of yarn.

  2. Bale management is done to reduce raw material cost.

  3. Bale management is done to achieve uniform quality of yarn.

  4. Bale management is done to control or reduce fabric barre.

  5. Bale management helps to provide the desired properties of the final product.

  6. Helps to reduce shade variation of the finished fabric.

  7. It has done to compensate for the variation in properties of the raw materials.

  8. Bale management helps to meet the functional and end use requirements.


Importance of Bale Management in Textile:

  1. If bale management is not done well fabric barre effect will be observed.

  2. Shade variation will be observed if in case bale management is not done.

  3. In case of knitted fabrics color variation will be observed if bale management is not done.

Procedure of Bale Management: Bale management process has done by following the below steps:

  1. Selection of Raw cotton,

  2. Testing moisture percentage in bales,

  3. Collecting sample from each bale,

  4. Testing of sample,

  5. Classification of Bales,

  6. Bale law down,

  7. Mixing.

Some key properties of bale must follow before bale management. Those are-

  1. Uniformity.

  2. Brightness or whiteness and yellowness.

  3. Strength,

  4. Trash content,

  5. Length,

  6. Fineness,

  7. Maturity.
